Family Fun at Coyote Point Museum: Celebrate Earth Day with Fun, Food, and Fascination
SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA – April 16, 2010 –
Looking for bite-sized ways to reduce your carbon footprint? Want something fun to do with your family? Come to Coyote Point Museum on Sunday, April 18, 12 – 5pm, to celebrate Earth Day and find out how you can walk lightly on our Earth.
During the museum’s 3rd annual Earth Day celebration, enjoy exciting science and art activities, animal showings and special projects that focus on sustainable practices that families can implement at home. Families will be able to learn how to start an edible garden, create habitats for native animals, grow worms in a compost bin or even raise chickens.
“There are so many important challenges facing our environment today, that it can be overwhelming for individuals to figure out how they can make a difference,” said Rachel Meyer, Executive Director. “The Museum’s Earth Day celebration is the perfect opportunity for families to learn how they can make a difference in their local environment, while having fun.”
