5-8 Specialty Camps
(Entering 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grade in fall 2010)
Digital Photography: Grades 7-8
Young photographers will experience and learn about nature through the lens of a camera. Study the science of light and color, learn about the biology of the local landscape, and explore different styles of nature photography. Each day we will travel to a different location to find the perfect picture. An exhibition of the campers' images will be presented at the end of the session. Campers need to provide their own digital camera.
Full Day Camp 9:00am-4:00pm Session 4: July 5-9
Fee includes Pre-Camp (8:30-9:00am) and Post-Camp (4:00-5:00pm).

Hike and Bike: Grades 5-6 and 7-8
Learn about physics and the environment as we hike and bike through the local environment. We will use our bikes to experiment with energy and motion and explore local ecosystems. Time will also be spent off our bikes as we stroll through oak woodlands and ocean beaches. Basic bike safety, repair, and trail etiquette will be covered. Campers need to provide their own mountain bike and helmet.

Zoo U: Grades 5-6 and 7-8
Do you love animals? Do you dream of being an animal keeper? Learn what it takes to care for the animals at Coyote Point Museum. You'll meet our professional wildlife staff and go behind the scenes of our wildlife habitats. Help prepare diets and make enrichment activities for and educate visitors about our animals. This camp is ideal for people who love animals and want to learn more about wildlife.
