Docent Tours & Self-Guided Field Trips

Foothill Tours (Grades 3-6)

Location: Various local county parks
An outdoor experience in nature! Docent-led hikes through local parks and trails allow for exploration and learning in the environment. Docents share their knowledge about the plants and animals that make their homes here in our backyard. Foothill Tours can be scheduled for Coyote Point, Huddart, Junipero Serra, or San Bruno Mountain Parks.
Program Length: 90 min.
Available on: Mon - Fri
Group Size: Min:10; Max: 40
Fee: $150.00
Booking: All tours must be booked at least 4 weeks in advance and depend on docent availability.

Wildlife Habitat Tours (Grades K–6)

Location: At the Museum
Learn about the animals that live at Coyote Point Museum, their special characteristics, adaptations, and native habitats. A whole-group introduction with a live animal presentation is followed by small group tours through the Wildlife Habitats.
Program Length: 60 minutes
Group Size: Min: 5; Max: 20 (K), 30 (Grades 1-6)
Fee: $110.00*
Available: Tues. & Thurs., 10:00am & 11:15am
* Fees include your program, museum admission for the confirmed number of students, one teacher, and up to 7 adult chaperones. There is a $5.25/person fee for each additional adult chaperone.

Self-Guided Field Trip

Location: At the Museum
Lead your group through a self-guided visit of the Museum’s exhibitions, Wildlife Habitats, and themed gardens. To make all visitor experiences at the museum more pleasant, self-guided visits may be limited to certain days or times.
Group Size: Min:10; Max: 100
Fee: 25% off General Admission (see General Information)
Available: Tues. – Sun.
Booking: Group visits pay in advance and must be scheduled 4 weeks in advance.

Home School Programs

Our high-quality environmental education programs are offered at the Museum or off-site for the home schooling community. Classes and tours serve children 4-13 years old.
