Family Activity Day: Energy Exploration & Innovation
May 17th, 10:00am - 2:00pm
Explore, discover and engage at Coyote Point Museum's Family Activity Day. Design and test a wind powered car, harness the sunlight to make sun print art, and get creative at the innovation station and see how we can imitate nature to solve environmental challenges sustainably. Scheduled activities include a Wildlife Show, Wind & Wave walk (around the park), and animal feedings. Get "charged up" and join us for this "energetic" day of family fun.

New Exhibit

Electric Vehicles Exhibit
May 4- June 2, 2008
Have you ever wondered how electric cars work? How fast they go? How far they go? Coyote Point Museum will have a special exhibit on electric vehicles which will help answer those questions. Come see the latest designs in cars, trucks, scooters and motorcycles from several manufacturers.

GREEN FARM Exhibit
Coyote Point Museum newest exhibit, demonstrates sustainable agricultural practices in a fun and informative way. The exhibit features a chick hatchery, and prototypes of hydroponics growing mechanisms which grows plants without dirt. Visitors can watch eggs hatch, observe baby chicks waddling about and create masterpieces with recycle objects. Coyote Point Museum's newest addition to the Green Farm is located at the front of the museum, "The Sun Curve" which harnesses solar energy to pump water from a koi pond to grow a kitchen garden.

Always a family favorite, our frisky River Otters frolic and play during their daily feeding. Observe our pair of otters in their habitat from BOTH above ground and through the underwater observation window!

A family favorite, our fox is the subject of our new interpretive habitat demonstration. Join our Wildlife staff in a question and answer session as you watch him "chow down."

WILDLIFE SHOWS AT COYOTE POINT MUSEUM
Every Wednesday and Friday at 1pm
Every Saturday at 11am & 1pm
Every Sunday at 1pm & 3pm
"Villains, Bandits and Bad Guys" Not all animals are cute and cuddly! Come join us in our Wildlife Theater for a highly interactive, humorous look at the bad reputations and common misconceptions that have kept people from hugging snakes and kissing cockroaches for centuries. This is a live animal presentation that is sure to give kids a new appreciation for some of nature's less popular critters!
Visitors will experience awesome Wildlife Shows complete with our very own non-releasable animals using their natural behavior to educate and entertain. Suitability: People of all ages who are awed by animals.

After School Adventures
May 6-29th
Explore and discover the natural world around you! After School Adventures, a NEW Coyote Point Museum program for Pre-K thru 4th grades. Young, adventurous explorers will begin their journey of lifelong respect for the earth and environmental stewardship. Age appropriate activities such as, outdoor exploration, observation, and investigation will engage their senses in this fun and informative program.
Sessions are one day a week from May 6- May 29th. For more information and to register or call 650-342-7755.

Enjoy an enriching story, animal presentation and exploration activity. Great for children 2-8 years old and their caregivers. Meet in the Book Nook.

Sensory Stroll
Use your senses to observe and discover the beauty of the Coyote Point Park . Activities will take place both in and out of the museum. Gather natural materials to make your own eco-art, meet and learn about animals that make their home in the park and discover something new on your sensory stroll.

Toddler Tuesday is a unique hands-on, environmental education-themed, early childhood program. On the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month (except where noted,) Coyote Point Museum hosts this activity from 10am - 12 noon for children ages 2-5 and their caregivers. Toddler crafts, exploration activities, and live animal presentations are part of this program. Each month has a different theme. Check the Museum entrance for the activity locations. Come join in the fun!
