Entertainment

After a long day of enjoying all the daytime activities Coyote Valley has to offer, for some a quiet evening of relaxing is appealing, but for those who want to find out what is on offer in the way of nightlife entertainment there are plenty of things to do to fill those evening hours before heading to bed. Fresno knows how to entertain its residents and visitors to the area.

Seeing a live production stage show at either The Tower Theater for Performing Arts, StageWorks Fresno, or 2nd Space Theater is a great way to pass the evening hours, particularly if it is preceded by a wonderful meal at any one of the quality restaurants serving a wide variety of international and American cuisines. If you want an even more interesting way to spend the evening Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater combines great food with a live performance for a unique experience.

For those who are seeking a more lively way to spend their evening hours there are a number of great bars and clubs where you can dance to live band music and enjoy a few of your favorite drinks in an upbeat atmosphere.

The top places to go in Fresno are as follows:

  • Spokeasy Public House – If craft beer is to your liking this is the place to go. With a wide selection of bottled craft beers and a few on tap you can spend the evening tasting some of the great beers on offer to discover some new ones and see if there are any in particular that you like. There is an old-school arcade game room in the back and for cyclists this is the best place to hang out and talk cycling with other enthusiasts. Owner operated so the bartenders are very knowledgeable about the brews on offer.
  • Beer to the People – This is another great beer joint where the owner is fanatical about beer and knows his stuff. With a great variety of brews in all styles, the bar is located next to a bowling alley so you can go and enjoy a game or two and then land at the Beer to the People bar and end the night trying out some of the best beers available, many of them you have probably never heard of. Some believe it is one of Fresno’s ‘best kept secrets’ but once you discover it you will go back again and again.
  • Press Box – A sports bar, it is tucked away in the back among a group of shops so you will have to look hard to find it but once you do you won’t regret it. As one would expect there are television sets everywhere so you can catch your favorite sports. Décor is sport-oriented with lots of memorabilia to look at. The bar is non-smoking but as they also serve some really great food that is a plus for most. The food is varied so if you want a good old fashioned burger or pizza you can get it, but if you want something a little fancier they can provide that too. It’s a great lunch spot as well as somewhere to hang out at night.

Chances are that there is a good movie to catch while in Fresno. There are three major theaters in the city, showing the latest box office hits as well as some movies that have been released over the past few weeks. If a movie is what you want then check out Maya Cinemas Fresno 16, Edwards Fresno Stadium 22 & IMAX, or Regal Manchester Stadium 16 and you are sure to find at least one movie worth seeing.

There are a number of game rooms in Fresno. Boomers Fresno has a wide variety of games to play, or if Laser Tag is more to your liking No Surrender Laser Tag Adventure Park is the place to go. If it has been a while since you put on some ice skates maybe an hour or two at Gateway Ice Center will not only give you a good work out but be a lot of fun too. You can always go to a movie afterwards or grab a beer at one of the bars listed above to end the evening’s fun.
